Mark MacKenzie

Manchester NH-based photographer.Manchester has been my home for many years and is where I worked and raised my family.I was a firefighter in the city, spent 27 years in the department, and retired as a Captain.I began taking photographs when assigned to the division responsible for fire investigation and was part of a team responsible for documenting the origins of fires.At the time there were no cell phones, digital cameras, SD cards, or Photoshop that could provide high-quality images. Instead, there were medium format cameras and film which we processed in the department’s dark room where the magic happened as your images good or bad emerged in the pan.Raising family and career obligations took center stage as it does for most people, and I put the camera down.A few years ago, I decided to renew my interest in the craft.
